Prime Minister Narendra Modi showered more accolades on IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman and said that the meaning of the word ‘Abhinandan’ will henceforth change. Prime Minister Modi, who was addressing an event in the national capital, said India now has the power to “change dictionary meanings” and that the whole world takes note of what the country now does.
“The world takes note of what India does and India has the strength to change the meaning of words in the dictionary,” PM Modi said.
Prime Minister Modi had also hailed the the courage and valour of the IAF pilot who was taken into custody by Pakistan after his Mig-21 Bison aircraft crashed while the Indian Air Force was repulsing an attempt by Pakistani jets to violate into Indian airspace and he landed on the other side of the LoC in PoK.
“Welcome Home Wing Commander Abhinandan! The nation is proud of your exemplary courage,” he had tweeted.
The IAF pilot was handed over to Indian authorities yesterday (March 1) at the Attari-Wagah border.
