In a prized catch, Dibrugarh Police seized a massive quantity of heroin besides recovering Rs 19.55 lakh cash from the residence of a wanted drug peddler during a pre-dawn operation in Dibrugarh.
Police, while acting on tip-offs, raided the house of wanted peddler Raja Ali in Kalibari locality of the town and seized the heroin and cash.
The drug peddler, who was at his residence prior to cops launching the raid, however, managed to pip the police team.
He jumped off to an adjacent house before making good his escape.
Police found Ali’s wife in the house who was detained for questioning.
