GUWAHATI, Nov 21: A moderate intensity earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale shook Assam at 7:41 pm today. Tremors were also felt in Guwahati.
According to the US Geological Survey, the epicentre of the earthquake was 27 km South-East of Barpeta and a few kilometres to the west of Guwahati.
No reports of any human casualty and injuries or damage to property have been reported.
Tremors were also felt in parts of Meghalaya.
