GUWAHATI, Jan 11: The Badruddin Ajmal-led All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) today extended its support to the formation of an alternative political party. Party supremo Badruddin Ajmal today said his party welcomes the move for the formation of a new political alternative in the post Citizenship (Amendment) Act scenario.

“We welcome the move that’s underway for the formation of a new political alternative in the State. As long as it remains secular, our party will extend all possible support to it,” Ajmal said in Guwahati.

Coming down heavily on the BJP, the AIUDF chief extended an olive branch to the Congress yet again.

“We have no issues in working with the Congress party. Our doors for them are open,” Ajmal, also the Dhubri Lok Sabha MP, said.
