GUWAHATI/DHUBRI: Tight security has been placed at Assam West Bengal border as inputs of anti-CAA protesters trying to enter the state have been received by Assam Police. According to sources in Assam Police a 17-member team of anti-CAA protesters are on their way to Assam in a bus. The protesters are travelling in a bus bearing a Uttar Pradesh registration UP17-1036.
Assam Police personnel are being placed near Chagolia at Golakganj near the Assam West Bengal border to stop this team from enter Assam. Teams of SSB jawans and Dhubri Police have been deployed at the border town. Fire tenders and ambulances are also being placed at the checkpoint.
After the violence in Delhi between anti-CAA and pro-CAA supporters Assam police is on high alert for protesters from outside Assam trying to enter the state.
