GUWAHATI: Assam boy Anup Pegu has made his mark in Mumbai’s film industry with small roles and has become an inspiration for many. Pegu played a role in the recently-released blockbuster movie Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior starring Ajay Devgn.
Anup Pegu is from Jorhat, Assam and is an aspiring actor and a model by profession. He was also seen in the Assam Tourism advertisement ‘Awesome Assam’ featuring along with Bollywood superstar Priyanka Chopra.
In an interview with News Live, Pegu said, “I started my career from modeling. After succeeding in the modeling world I stepped into the film Industry. I have worked in Rajnikanth’s movie ‘Darbaar’, then I worked in ‘Bhuj’, and recently, I completed an assignment in Salman Khan’s upcoming movie ‘Radhe’.”
“I was engaged in soon-to-be-released movie ‘Sooryavanshi’ where Akshay Kumar is in the lead role. I have also signed for John Abraham’s upcoming project ‘Attack’ that will release on 15h August 2020. My first Bollywood movie was ‘Mard ko Dard Nahi Hota’, then I worked in the movie ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke pas’. I have also worked in a few South-Indian movies like ‘Superstar’, ‘Mohanlal’,” added Pegu.
Anup did his schooling from St Marys School in Lakhimpur, Assam and then he moved to Delhi to pursue his graduation from the University of Delhi.
Pegu’s first modeling assignment was under Elite, a photoshoot for Nike by Tarun Khiwal. He has also done shoots for a lot of other brands like Reebok, Van Heusen and others.
