GUWAHATI: Assam Police on Sunday recovered a 7.65mm pistol and a magazine from the residence of one Tapan Saikia from Bonai area.
According to reports, Teok police had launched an operation in the area based on intelligence inputs. Tapan who is a resident of Teok found the pistol in Jhanji river in Jorhat district of Assam. He along with his friend Biswajit Neog found the pistol while digging sand from the river bed.
Meanwhile, police have detained Tapan Saikia and Biswajit Neog and investigation is underway.
