Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Youth Congress President Kamrul Islam Choudhury has been arrested by Assam Police for his alleged involvement of vandalism during the protests against the Anti-CAA protest which turned violent.
According to the reports, Islam was booked for his involvement in the violence spree that took place in the Christian Basti area during the CAA protest on December 12, 2020.
However, the Youth Congress leader denied all the allegations and claimed that he was not involved in any cases of vandalism and violence spree.
On the other hand, Police also arrested the executive president of Chatra Mukti Sangram Samiti (CMSS) Manash along with Shahi Sensowa, joint secretary of KMSS’s Dibrugarh district committee, citing alleged vandalism and violence.
