CM Sonowal inaugurates Majuli’s first blood bank

Guwahati: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal today inaugurated a Blood Bank at Sri Sri Pitambardev Goswami Civil Hospital in Majuli, Assam.

The first blood bank in the river district has been built with the cost of ₹ 54.5 lakh. It is expected the blood bank will ensure quality healthcare to the people of Majuli.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Jorhat MP Tapon Kumar Gogoi and Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah.

The foundation of this blood bank was laid in March, 2019 by Majuli Deputy Commissioner Pallab Gopal Jha.

Earlier, the people of the river island had to face enormous problems as they had to solely depend on the blood bank at Jorhat.
