GUWAHATI: A constable of Assam Police died after getting accidentally shot by his gun at Golakganj in Dhubri district.
The deceased constable has been identified as Umesh Ray. Umesh Ray was posted at Dhubri Police Reserve.
The incident took place when the Police constable was travelling in a bike and suddenly his gun (AK-47) got misfired. The bullets hit his head killing him on the spot.
Golakganj Police and Dhubri Police reached the spot immediately after the incident took place and started investigation.
