GUWAHATI: In a turn of events, Assam Police arrested the complainants Yarup Hussain and his friend, who had registered a case of alleged robbery at Morigaon on Wednesday night.

Earlier, police had arrested ten people in connection with the robbery case and now they have arrested three more people who were on the run.

The three accused have been identified as CRPF jawans Mintu Kumar, Asif Nawaz and Jyayur Rahman from Na-Mile area near Guwahati.

According to Morigaon Police SP Swapnil Deka, “The case wasn’t of robbery rather it was more of personal business rivalry. The complainants faked the entire case of robbery. The complainants basically had a deal of converting black money of around Rs. 5 lakh into white money with another party. But somehow the deal wasn’t cracked. Later, Yarup Hussain and Noor Mohammad falsely reported the case of robbery.”

The three arrested CRPF jawans were basically used by Yaruf Hussain to allegedly threaten his business rivals.

The police also recovered ₹ 3 lakh from Noor Mohammad’s residence on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Assam Police have already started interrogating the three accused CRPF jawans for further details.
