Guwahati: Bhumi Pednekar, for her portrayal of the septuagenarian sharpshooter Chandro Tomar in Saand Ki Aankh (2019) won the 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards 2020 Critics Award for Best Actress along with Tapsee Pannu.
Her character in the film signified that women are not only confined to handling house chores.
On Sunday morning, post the Filmfare Awards held in Guwahati, Bhumi Pednekar along with other Bollywood personalities visited Kamakhya Devalaya.
Bhumi Pednekar offered prayer and her obeisance at the Maa Kamakhya Devalaya on Sunday morning.
Bhumi was seen wearing a white kurta paired with white palazzo.
“This year Filmfare is very special to me because it was happening in Assam and winning the black lady gives me immense happiness and celebrating the win with Maa Kamakhya is the best opportunity one could have. I am realy lucky to have an opportunity to offer my prayers to the Goddess” said the Bollywood actress.
She also added that she really enjoyed performing Bihu while shooting the promo video for the ‘Awesome Assam’ and is really glad that she got to know about a new culture. Bhumi also hoped that in near future she gets to do a movie which will be Assam centric and once again she gets to visit the beautiful state and meet the lovely people of Assam.
