Guwahati: Guwahati is all set to welcome a night of heady mix glitz, glamour, fashion and the who’s who of Bollywood and be a part of the 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards. You can watch your favourite stars perform and witness their grace at the red carpet donning their gorgeous outfits right here in the city.
Assam Tourism Development Corporation Limited’s Chairman Jayanta Malla Baruah said, “Around 4 to 5 charter planes will be on its way to bring the stars to the city. Some of the Bollywood biggies like Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal, Karan Johar and Madhuri Dixit will reach Guwahati on 14th February while the rest of the stars will reach the venue on 15th February. As of now 24 A-listers Bollywood celebrities have confirmed their participation in the event.”
He also added, “Taj Vivanta, Radisson Blu, Novotel and Kiranshree Grand have been booked for the Bollywood stars and their crews. Many eminent personalities of the tinsel town will also participate in the gala event. All these stars will be staying at these 5-star hotels in Guwahati.”
The event will be hosted by the new heartthrob of the nation Vicky Kaushal and ace director Karan Johar.
On the other hand, the vibrant culture of Assam will also be displayed with 3 performances in the Filmfare Awards Ceremony where Assamese artistes Aimee Baruah, Gayatri Mahanta and other eminent artistes from Assam will perform Bihu , Sattriya and tribal dances.
The award show will be hosted by Guwahati as a part of the state government’s initiative to promote Assam Tourism on domestic and international levels using Bollywood’s influence.
