Good news for Guwahatians as Rapido to resume services

PUBLISHED:

GUWAHATI: Now commuters will soon be able to use the app-based bike service Rapido in Guwahati.

Rapido services that were suspended a few days back will now again resume services in Guwahati.

Also cabs with three state permits will be allowed to run in the city.

Previously, the transport department had said that they will act against the cabs operating in Guwahati with three-state permits.

Today during a press meet Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary confirmed that all cabs including OLA and UBER running in the city can carry on their service without any issue.

“We did not suspend their services. Today, we had a meeting with the India and Asia heads of these companies. In the meeting we discussed the issues with them,” said Minister of Transport Chandra Mohan Patowary.

Patowary added, “Cabs which will ply on Guwahati roads will have to follow the norms set by the Transport department. Both Rapido rider and passenger will have to wear helmets.”
