Govt. to provide land to Karunadhara: Sonowal

GUWAHATI: Attending the 10th Foundation Day celebrations of Karunadhara trust on Wednesday, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced that the state government would provide required land to the trust in Guwahati.

Speaking at the foundation day programme of the trust held at Assam Agriculture University Auditorium, CM Sonowal said, “We should also think for others. Service to mankind is service to god.”

Sonowal also lauded Karunadhara for playing a pivotal role in raising the social status of differently abled, providing them with new zeal of life.

On the other hand, chief  advisor of Karunadhara Trust and ‘Niyomiya Barta’ chief editor Homen Borgohain said, “We will proceed overcoming all the challenges. We have organised the foundation day to keep in mind that the differently abled persons are also parts of our human society and dear ones to us.”

The trust dedicated for the welfare of the differently abled and terminally ill patients, was set-up under the initiative of eminent litterateur Homen Borgohain and former Assam DGP Nishinath Changkakoti on February 12, 2011. In its journey of ten years, Karunadhara Trust has extended financial help of Rs. 3 crore to more than 1500 people.
