GUWAHATI: A night super bus from Manipur met with an accident near Sonapur early Tuesday. The bus (MN 01 2076) was on its route from Manipur to Guwahati.
The accident took place near Harshita Washing Centre at Sonapur. There were 30 passengers in the bus of which 15 passengers have been reported hurt in the accident.
Two of the passengers are in critical condition and have been taken to the 200-beded Sonapur District Hospital for treatment immediately. According to the passengers the driver of the night super was in an inebriated state and was driving the vehicle recklessly. “Repeated requests were made to him to drive slower, but he did not listen,” said a passenger.
