Second road to Kamakhya Temple by 2020, to be connected by flyover: PWD Minister

GUWAHATI: The alternative road leading from Pandu to Kamakhya Temple is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.  Construction work is underway in full swing at this stretch. This was stated by Assam PWD Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday.

“Work is on for a 4-km-long flyover. One arm of this flyover from Jalukbari will extend till Pandu. From there it will get connected to the road leading directly to Kamakhya Temple. We expect that by the end of 2020 the second motorable road leading to Kamakhya Temple via Pandu will be ready. The flyover, since it is 4-km long, will take around three years to get completed,” said Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Speaking at the foundation laying stone of the T-shaped, Supermarket flyover, the PWD minister also stated that 30 per cent work of the Rs. 54 crore Ganeshguri flyover project has been completed. Dr. Sarma said that the work might get completed before the coming Durga Puja Festival.
