India set to open world’s largest cricket stadium

GUWAHATI: India is all set to open world’s largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The Sarder Patel Stadium also known as the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad is soon going to become the world’s largest cricket stadium. The Motera Stadium is all set to open in March 2020. The stadium being built at a cost of Rs. 700 crore will have a seating capacity of more than 1 lakh spectators.

Motera Stadium is one of the premier cricket stadiums of India in the Motera locality of Ahmedabad owned by Gujarat Cricket Association. It is currently undergoing reconstruction after being demolished completely in late 2016.

The stadium is likely to be opened with an exhibition match between Asia XI and World XI in March 2020.
