Guwahati: A Delhi court on Tuesday finally issued death warrant for the four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case. The verdict comes during the hearing of a plea seeking the consequence of ‘black warrant’ against the four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case.
The convicts will be hanged on January 22 at 7am.
The convicts were produced before the court through video conferencing.
All the six accused were arrested and charged with sexual assault and murder. One of the accused was a minor and appeared before a juvenile justice court, while another accused Ram Singh committed suicide in Tihar Jail.
The rest four death row convicts are Mukesh, Vinay Sharma, Akshay Singh and Pawan Gupta.
The victim, named Nirbhaya by a numbed nation, was raped and brutalized in a moving bus in South Delhi by six people on Dec 16, 2012.
