Assam BSF jawan killed in Chhattisgarh encounter

A Border Security Force (BSF) trooper from Assam laid down his life in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh. Bipul Borah, hailing from Dhonekhowa village of Dikhowmukh in Assam’s Sivasagar district, was martyred along with three other troopers in the encounter that broke out at Kanker district yesterday (April 4) evening.

His mortal remains are expected to be brought to Dibrugarh in a special aircraft and then taken to his native village.

Borah was serving as an assistant sub-inspector with BSF’s 114 batallion.

He leaves behind his wife, a son and a daughter.

The other BSF troopers killed in the encounter with Maoists are
Seelam Ramkrishna, Isharar Khan and Tumeshwar.

Two other troopers were also injured in the gunbattle.
