BJP finalizes alliance with AGP

PUBLISHED:

Two months after snapping ties with the BJP over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, the AGP Tuesday night ended all speculations by deciding to ally once again with its former alliance partners for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The decision to tie up was taken at a meeting between a three-member AGP delegation comprising Atul Bora, Keshab Mahanta and Birendra Prasad Baishya and BJP’s national general secretary Ram Madhav, NEDA convenor and Assam Finance, Health and PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass in Guwahati.

Ram Madhav announced after the meeting that the BJP, AGP and the BPF will contest the upcoming polls together.
