PULWAMA ATTACK | MASSIVE ANTI-PAKISTAN PROTEST IN GUWAHATI

PUBLISHED:

Protests over the dastardly attack on the CRPF at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir in which 40 CRPF troopers lost their lives continues across the country with a massive protest organized at Fancy Bazaar, the commercial hub of Guwahati, as traders downed shutters and demanded that the perpetrators are brought to book.

Protesters shouted ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ slogans as they demanded a befitting reply to avenge the deaths of the CRPF troopers. “Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Shaheed Hamesha Amar Rahe’ slogans also rent the air.

“The deaths of our brave soldiers should not go in vain. They laid down their lives for the country and to safeguard the nation from enemies. The government should strike back immediately and avenge their deaths,” a businessman who took part in the protest told News Live.

Protests and candle-light vigils are being organized in various parts of Assam to condemn the dastardly killings with protesters demanding of the government to strike back and target enemy targets in Pakistan, some even advocating a full-scale war.

Protesters also set fire to Pakistani flags and torched effigies and pictures of Pakistan PM Imran Khan.

PM Narendra Modi yesterday (Feb 15) said that India will give a strong and fitting reply to the attack on the CRPF troopers and that forces have been given full freedom. His statement came as India withdrew the ‘Most Favoured Nation’ status granted to Pakistan after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (SSC) that was chaired by Prime Minister Modi. Prime Minister Modi and other leaders also paid tributes after the mortal remains of the slain jawans were brought to New Delhi.
