APSC Scam: Dibrugarh Police to quiz 33 arrested officials in prison

PUBLISHED:

The Court of the Special Judge, Guwahati, has given Dibrugarh Police permission to interrogate 33 arrested APS, ACS and allied service officials in prison. The ruling comes after Dibrugarh Police petitioned the court, seeking its permission to interrogate the 33 officials accused of clearing the APSC test by bribing officials.

On the other hand Bhangagarh Police, which is probing another case of candidates influencing APSC members to get jobs, has also petitioned the court seeking its permission to interrogate arrested former chairman Rakesh Paul and former disgraced member Basanta Doley jointly in jail.

The Assam Government had on Wednesday dismissed 13 arrested APS, ACS and allied service officials from service. Nishamoni Deka, Rumi Saikia, Rajarshi Sen Deka, Geetali Doley, Dipak Khanikar, Dwithun Borgoyary, Pallabi Sarma Choudhury, Debajit Bora, Anirudha Roy, Himangshu Choudhury, Kunal Das, Kamal Debnath and Badrul Islam Choudhury were dismissed from service following their arrest in the infamous cash-for-jobs scam.
