Meanwhile, the outlawed outfit claimed responsibility for the blast but washed its hands of the Dhola killings, ‘challenging’ NIA and Assam Police to prove its involvement in the killings.

“We are not involved in the killing… and challenge the NIA to inform the people of Asom and us on what ground and proof they are accusing our organization for that killings,” the rebel outfit stated in a statement.

The rebel group also stated in its release e-mailed to media houses that Anup Gupta, one of the blast victims, was not their “target”.

“Mr. Gupta was not our target, our hearts go to his family,” the release issued by Arunodoy Asom stated.
