OIL announces Rs 20 lakh for Hima Das

Public sector oil giant Oil India Limited has announced a cash incentive of Rs 20 lakh for champion sprinter Hima Das of Assam. The decision to provide the star sprinter with the financial grant was announced by Oil India Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Utpal Bora in Guwahati today (Aug 4) and is meant to cover her training and other expenses for upcoming tournaments, including preparations for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

OIL also announced that they have been providing cricketer Riyan Parag and paddler Trisha Gogoi a monthly stipend of Rs 17,000 each.

Das further said that OIL has been able to increase its profits to Rs 2,667 crore, that’s an astronomical hike of 72% from the previous period. He also said piped gas connections will be provided to every household in Guwahati within the next three years.

The OIL CMD was speaking during the release of a coffee-table book on the OIL Super 30 Project, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Oil India, that helps meritorious students coming from economically weaker sections of the society and prepare them for various competitive examinations.
