PUBLISHED:

Fuel prices are showing no signs of coming down with prices of petrol and diesel hiked by oil companies yet again. While petrol price has been increase by 19 paise/litre, diesel went up by 23 paise for every litre on Saturday. With today’s hike, a litre of petrol will cost Rs 85.88 in Guwahati today (Sep 29) while one will have to shell out Rs 78.05 for every litre of diesel consumed (prices, however, could vary marginally from one fuel station to another.

Meanwhile, people across Assam and in other parts of the country have expressed their anger over the escalating petrol and diesel price that is now burning a hole in the common man’s pocket.

“It’s going up and up: no signs of petrol and diesel prices coming down in the coming days, it seems. The government should do something. Rising fuel prices are affecting out daily budget,” Prakash Sharma, a resident of Guwahati, told News Live.

You can’t predict whether our cricketers will score centuriues in the upcoming series against West Indies and the away tour to Australia but it seems both petrol and diesel reach triple figures very soon,” Ipshit Bharadwaj said, taking a dig at the government.

The Congress party, the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) and other apolitical groups and organizations have been protesting against skyrocketing fuel prices.
