Arrested Hizbul terrorist Qamer-uz-Zaman today (Oct 10) played the victim card while speaking for the first time ever since his arrest at Kanpur on Sep 13 and claimed his case was “kind of a mirage”. Qamer was interrogated by Assam Police and other agencies, including the NIA, after he was brought to Assam by a team of Uttar Pradesh Police on a transit remand on Oct 7.
The terrorist who was photographed holding an AK series assault rifle that also claimed that he had joined the Pakistani terrorist organization told reporters his case was like a mirage in a desert.
“Have you seen the mirage of the desert? My face that is already viral is like that. It’s one kind of a mirage,” Qamer said while he was being brought out of Hojai Police Station before being taken to Guwahati from where he was flown to Lucknow.
Incidentally, Hojai Police have arrested eight accomplices of Qamer-uz-Zaman. Shahnawaz (Shah) Alom, Saiful Islam alias Liton who happens to be Qamer’s brother, Saidul Alom, Baharuddin and Joynaluddin were arrested from Jamunamukh while Omar Farooq — another associate of the Hizbul terrorist — was arrested from Byrnihat in Meghalaya.
Another associate named Riyazuddin was arrested from Kachua in Nagaon district for his links with Qamer. Incidentally, Qamer had stayed at Riyazuddin’s house when he visited Assam in August this year besides also using his motorcycle.
