Scanner on APDCL recruitment test amid paper leak allegations

PUBLISHED:

The recruitment test conducted by Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) for the post of Office-cum-Field Assistants and Sahayaks has come under scanner amid allegations of question paper leak.

The social media has been abuzz with images of what are being said to be that of question papers allegedly circulated while the exam was in progress.

On the other hand, Nagaon police have taken an examiner of the recruitment for questioning after he was accused of showing undue favour to an examinee.

Nandan Rai, the examiner and a teacher of Nagaon Bengali Girls’ High School, has been accused of displaying preferential treatment and allowing a candidate to sit in the recruitment test with only a photostated copy of the original admit card.

There have also been allegations that the other side of the photostated admit card was a specimen copy of the evaluation sheet.

Meanwhile, the Congress party had Saturday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of India alleging that the recruitment process was in violation of the Model Code of Conduct that’s in place for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

“This is a clear instance of violation of the MCC by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the state of Assam since the MCC continues to be applicable till the declaration of the results of the Lok Sabha Election on May 23, 2019,” PTI quoted APCC general secretary Ranjan Bora as stating in the complaint sent to the Election Commission.

The veracity of the allegations could not be ascertained.
