Threat e-mail to ‘assassinate PM Modi’ traced to Assam!

PUBLISHED:

An e-mail sent to Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik threatening to “assassinate PM Modi in 2019” has been traced to a server in Assam, reports said. Incidentally, the Delhi top cop allegedly received the e-mail, a one-liner, that threatened to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November 2019.

The mail was reportedly sent to the official e-mail of the Delhi Police Commissioner.

Security agencies have begun a massive investigation although no arrests have been made so far.

The latest incident comes after Maharashtra Police, earlier in June this year, recovered a Maoist communiqué that revealed a Naxals plot to assassinate PM Narendra Modi in a “Rajiv Gandhi-type incident” during a “road show”. The letter was recovered from the residence of a rights activist named Rona Wilson who was arrested in connection with the caste-violence case at Bhima Koregaon in Maharashtra.

The letter, written by a person who was named as an ‘R’ and addressed to ‘Comrade Prakash’, stated that Prime Minister Modi could be targeted during his “road shows” in a “Rajiv Gandhi-type incident”.
