Mexico produced the biggest upset of the FIFA World Cup in Russia, stunning defending champions Germany 1-0 in their opening Group F tie at the Luzniki Stadium in Moscow on Sunday. Hirving Lozano was the hero for Mexico as he scored the winner in the 35th minute of the match. Germany had most of the possession but failed to find an equaliser that resulted in the shock defeat. France, the 1998 winners, had also lost their first match in the 2002 edition, going down to Senegal.
