GUWAHATI: Guwahati City FC (GCFC) Football Academy team GCFC Unicorns clinched the U8 and U10 category titles of Greater Guwahati Baby League (GGBL) season 2. Unicorns finished the table with 28 points in the final rounds in the final match of U10 category held at International School today. Khanapara Pegasus and GTC Rhinos secured second and third position respectively. Unicorns defeated Khanapara Pegasus 5-1 and drew with GYSFCC Dragons in the Final Round matches today and clinched the title. Sumit Pandey of GTC Rhinos secured the top position in the goal scorer’s list with 26 goals. GCFC Unicorns had already confirmed their title of the U8 category of the league.
GCFC Unicorns continued their march towards victory in today’s matches also as they defeated Chandmari Turtles 3-0 and drew with Manomay Deers to clinch the title formally. Unicorns U8 have registered victories in 22 matches out of 24 matches of the league. Vivek Dey of GCFC Unicorns topped the goal scorer’s tally with 38 goals. On the other hand, prize distribution ceremony will be held on March 1.
