GUWAHATI: Suditya Boruah, from Assam clinched gold medal in the 89 kg weightlifting event at the Khelo India Youth Games 2020 held in Guwahati on Monday.
Suditya Boruah won the gold medal in men’s under-17 89 kg weightlifting event. Ritesh Mhaisale of Maharashtra won silver while Sanidhya More of Maharashtra won bronze medal.
Meanwhile, another weightlifter from Assam, Gulap Gogoi also bagged Gold medal in the 81 kg category.

The weightlifting events are being held at Bhogeshwari Phukanani Indoor Stadium, Dispur.
With a collection of 15 gold, 14 silver and 16 bronze medals, Assam is ranked seventh (till Monday afternoon) in the medal tally of the Khelo India Youth Games 2020.
