GUWAHATI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Hojai Shiladitya Dev has termed journalist Ajit Kumar Bhuyan as Badan Borphukan for seeking Maulana Badaruddin Ajmal’s support in the Rajya Sabha elections in Assam.
Criticising Bhuyan and Maulana Badaruddin Ajmal, Shiladitya Dev said, “The people of Assam are suffering because of Badan like him (Bhuyan) and Badaruddin. They are creating turmoil in Assam just to fulfill their own agenda.”
Shiladitya Dev also alleged that Ajit Bhuyan is trying to fulfill his agenda of becoming an MP or MLA joining hands with AIUDF.
Meanwhile, state BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass said, “Bhuyan went to Dhubri and said there is no foreigner, he said there is no foreigner in Dhubri. He also claimed that only the people in Char areas are safeguarding Assamese language and culture.”
BJP MP from Mangaldai Dilip Saikia also criticicsed Ajit Kumar Bhuyan’s remarks that AIUDF is not untouchable for him. Taking on Bhuyan, Dilip Saikia said,”Ajit Bhuyan has insulted the entire indigenous Assamses people with his remarks. Because AIUDF was formed to oppose the interests of the indigenous people.”
