Anti-CAA movement has political motives: Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI: “They forced our workers to quit Panchayats and the party so that they can acquire power. It proves that the movement has political motives,” said Assam finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma at BJP’s Sankalp Samaroh at Dibrugarh today.

Hitting out at Anti-CAA movement, Dr. Sarma alleged, “Since December, some people have been conspiring to make Assam violent. They want to obstruct the road to progress.”

“We have never seen such violent movement. We have never seen such movement where people will protest in the daylight and collect money in the night,” Sarma added.

“Now people don’t talk about movement. People talk about roads, schools, self-help groups and development,’ he stated further.
