GUWAHATI: After people in large number gathered at vegetable markets and meat shops of Guwahati defying the rules and regulations of lockdown, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal asked the district administration to shut down the vegetable and meat shops immediately in the city.
News Live reported how people crowded different areas in Guwahati to buy vegetables. The rules of social distancing were also violated in many parts of the city. Following that, administration asked the shopkeepers to down their shutters.
Long queues of customers were seen today in Fancy Bazar, Ganeshguri areas of Guwahati to buy vegetables. Some even did not care about the directives of social distancing to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
