GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma made some major announcements on Saturday here in Guwahati.

Assam Government to release full salaries and pension

State Government employees and pensioners will get full salaries and pension on April 9. There won’t be any deduction barring the salary of a day government employees have promised to donate to the Arogya Nidhi fund. I would like to appeal all government employees to donate something to at least five poor families after they get their entire month’s salaries on April 9.

108, 104 employees to get Rs 50 lakh medical insurance

108 ambulance and 104 health helpline employees to be brought under Rs 50 lakh medical insurance scheme. Rs 1000 additionally will be provided to 108 employees by State Government and Rs 1000 to ASHA workers from central government.

812 People with Nizamuddin Markaz link tested in Assam

1,529 COVID2019 tests have been conducted so far in Assam; swab samples of 25 have been positive while 1,308 have tested negative. Results of 196 are awaited. 812 of the total tested so far are returnees from Nizamuddin Markaz out of which 24 have tested positive.

Spanish Garden, Guwahati

“Guwahati COVID19 patient Manish Tibrewal returned from Delhi on March1
Manish Tibrewal of Spanish Garden apartments in Guwahati, who had tested positive for COVID19, complained of breathing problem. He was admitted to GMCH last night. He is now stable. Although he had travelled to Delhi and returned home on March 1, we believe he contracted the virus from someone he met here. We have identified 111 people whom he had met and will be quarantining them. Spanish Garden has been converted into a containment zone and and no one will be allowed to come out of the apartment for 14 days beginning yesterday,” said Dr. Sarma.

Tablighi Jamaat Coronavirus chain continues in Assam

Person named Mafizuddin from Boko in Kamrup district, who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat of Nizamuddin Markaz and tested positive for COVID2019 yesterday, is now undergoing treatment at MMCH, Guwahati. On the other hand, Jamia Khatun of Morigaon, who is also linked to the Tablighi Jamaat of Nizamuddin Markaz and tested COVID19 positive, has also been shifted to MMCH. Her husband had earlier tested positive for COVID19.

North Lakhimpur COVID19

Babul Ali of North Lakhimpur tested positive for COVID19 today. Tests were conducted at ICMR’s RMRC Lahoal lab. He had also attended the Tablighi Jamaat of Nizamuddin Markaz and becomes RMRC Lahoal’s first positive patient from Assam.
