GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma held a meeting on Wednesday with the owners of private hospitals in Guwahati to mitigate the challenges because of Coronavirus outbreak.

I discussed with owners of pvt hospitals of Guwahati about how they can share burden along with govt hospitals. I suggested that while govt hosp can be restricted for #Covid patients, regular patients can be sent to them for which we reimburse. Hopeful something will work out pic.twitter.com/UzY3zOpNYv

“We have discussed how common citizens can get treatment at nursing homes with discount. We have also deliberated on whether all the citizens can avail free treatment under Atal Amrit Abhiyan. The private hospitals will inform us about their decisions and we will publish a list of hospitals who will enter with an agreement with us,” said Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma after the meeting.
