Coronavirus: Mizoram restricts entry of outsiders to state

PUBLISHED:

GUWAHATI/AIZAWL: The Mizoram government has barred the entry of outsiders to the state from immediate effect. This step has been taken to stop the entry of Coronavirus disease to this Northeastern hill state. The Mizoram government has also stopped providing Inner Liner Permits (ILP) and closed down its centres at Silchar and other places along Assam-Mizoram border.

The Mizoram government has closed Vairengte check gate along the Assam-Mizoram border to prevent entry of outsiders. However, trucks carrying essential goods have been allowed to enter the state. Health check-ups of the truck drivers and crew members are also being conducted along the Assam-Mizoram border by the Mizoram government.

A few days ago, the state also sealed the international border with Myanmar and Bangladesh.
