GUWAHATI: After 2 employees of Bongaigaon Block Public Health Centre found COVID-19 positive on Thursday, the Bongaigaon district administration has sealed the Bongaigaon PHC.
Babita Basphor and Anupam Thakuriya, two members of the staff at the health centre tested COVID-19 positive on Thursday. Meanwhile, 213 people including doctors, nurses and their family members have been kept under quarantine. They are being quarantined at different hotels.
On the other hand, a group of ANMs of Bongaigaon PHC have alleged that Anupam Thakuria and Babita Basfor, the two health workers who tested positive yesterday, were not told to home quarantine themselves after their swab samples were collected during random testing but were asked to report to work.
Claiming that it was utterly irresponsible on the part of Bongaigaon Block PHC authorities to show such callous attitude, the ANMs alleged that although they tried to raise the issue, their concerns were not given much importance.
