GUWAHATI: The first positive case of Coronavirus affected in the Northeast India has been detected in Manipur.
The affected is a 23-year-old student, resident of Imphal (West).
The test was conducted on 23 March at the Department of Microbiology, JNIMS, Imphal and her Throat/ Nasopharyngeal Swab was used as the Specimen type for conducting the test.
As per reports, the girl had recently returned from the UK and authorities have started tracking the people she came in contact with.
This is the first confirmed positive COVID-19 case of the deadly coronavirus disease in Northeast India.
Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed cases in India rose to 492.
