Filmfare fever grips Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Preparations are in full-swing for Filmfare Awards Ceremony 2020 as Guwahati is all set to host the gala event on February 15.

A team of Times of India group from Mumbai has already arrived in the city to make necessary preparations. The team is working day and night to make the event a grand success.

According to sources, 2600 tickets of the first phase have already been sold out through ‘BookMyShow’. The tickets of the second phase have been made available online. People will be able to book tickets on ‘AwesomeAssam’ website from February 8.

On the other hand, enthusiasm among the people of Guwahati know no bounds as several Bollywood stars are likely to attend the Filmfare Awards.

Assam Tourism Development Corporation Limited’s chairman Jayanta Malla Baruah informed newsmen that 23 A-listers Bollywood celebrities have confirmed their participation in the event.

On the other hand, the vibrant culture of Assam will also be displayed in the Filmfare Awards Ceremony where Assamese artistes Aimee Baruah and Gayatri Mahanta will perform Bihu and Sattriya dances respectively.

Meanwhile, security arrangements have been tightened in Guwahati to ensure law and order during the event.

City police commissioner Munna Prasad Gupta told reporters that police would not allow audience to carry bags and water bottles to the event.

Police also issued other security guidelines to the organiser of Fimfare Awards Ceremony.
