GUWAHATI: A youth has been burnt alive in Guwahati while he was asleep at his home in the morning, today.
The youth identified as Biswajit Verma was charred to death at his residence at Navodaya Path, Dwaraka Nagar in Guwahati.
Though initially it has been suspected as an incident of fire, the cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.
“Biswajit’s charred body was found in the early morning today. We have heard that he was quite drunk last night,” said a relative of the victim.
Meanwhile, Assam Police has initiated investigation into the incident.
