First Coronavirus case in Arunachal; man attended Nizamuddin event

GUWAHATI: A man who participated in the Tablighi event at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi has been tested Coronavirus positive in Arunachal Pradesh. The first Coronavirus positive case in the state has been tested at Regional Medical Research Centre, Dibrugarh.

According to reports, the Arunachal  man returned to his home after attending the religious event at Nizamuddin Markaz which has emerged as the hotspot of India’s most of the Coronavirus cases.

Another man who attended the religious congregation at Tablighi Jamaat Markaz in Delhi’s Nizamuddin tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur, taking the total number of coronavirus cases in the state to two, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said on Thursday.

The state-level control room on COVID-19 said ten people returned to Manipur after attending the religious congregation in Nizamuddin and of them, eight have tested negative.

With this total 18 people from Northeast who had returned from the event have been found positive for Coronavirus. Assam has so far reported 16 Coronavirus positive cases, all of them took part in the religious congregation at Nizamuddin and returned to the state.
