GUWAHATI: Defying the lockdown rules in the wake of Coronavirus outbreak, a wedding was organised at Lakshibari village in Merapanai area under Golaghat district. However, Assam Police along with magistrate arrived at the wedding venue when the reception was going on. Police used baton against the family members and the guests for violating the lockdown rules.
The bride and her father Madhab Das somehow fled from the wedding venue. However four people were arrested for violating the order of the government.
Though, government has been urging people to maintain social distance, a large number of people attended the wedding with no fear for Coronavirus.
