GUWAHATI: “We will prepare a comprehensive relief and rehabilitation policy for all the NDFB cadres so that they remain in the mainstream,” said Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma at the Arms Laying Ceremony by the members of the all four factions of NDFB at GMCH Auditorium today.
“The relief and rehabilitation policy will be prepared and implemented with the consultation of leaders of all the four factions of NDFB — Gobinda Basumatary, Dhiren Bodo, Ranjan Daimary and B. Saoraigwra,” minister Sarma added.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sarma also invited the United Liberation Front of Assam(I) for the peace talks.
“BJP government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi is working for the permanent peace in Assam. Bodo Accord is the latest example,” Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
“We thank prime minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah on behalf of the people of Assam for bringing permanent peace in BTR,” he stated.
Minister Sarma also termed the Bodo Peace Accord as historic that was signed by all the factions of NDFB, ABSU and UBPO.
Years of insurgency has been brought to an end with signing of #BodoPeaceAccord.
The Accord defines powers of BTC, solves issues of people living outside Bodoland, and any of these steps shall not compromise with #Assam‘s territorial integrity at any cost.#ArmsLayingCeremony pic.twitter.com/jm9MqsjhNP
