Guwahati: Transport Dept to take action against cabs with Inter-State Permits

PUBLISHED:

GUWAHATI: Transport department will take stern action against the cabs operating in Guwahati with three-state permits, informed Kamrup (M) district transport officer (DTO) Bapan Kalita.

“It is not acceptable to operate in Guwahati with three-state permits. It creates traffic congestion in the city. If they want to operate in Guwahati, I urge them to take permits for two districts-Kamrup (M) and Kamrup (R),” Kalita said.

“We have not conducted any raid against the cabs in last three days. They are given a chance to arrange necessary permission. Cabs operating under Ola, Uber need not to worry about it. They can apply for the permits with a fee of Rs. 100 only,” the transport officer added.
