Guwahati: In a ghastly incident two bodies were found under a culvert in Goalpara District’s Matiya Gosainbari. The bodies are reported to be of a mother and her young son who have been murdered and dumped under a culvert.
The deceased have been identified as Jayeda and Jamirul Islam.
According to the local residents the prime suspect is Yakub Ali, the husband of the deceased who they doubt might have committed the crime.
Assam Police is investigating the matter.
Family crimes are on the rise in Assam as in an earlier incident, yesterday, one person was arrested for setting his wife and kid on fire in Dibrugarh District. The accused has been arrested by the Dibrugarh Police.
