GUWAHATI: Wedding venue at Garmur in Majuli turned into a battleground as the groom’s family was allegedly beaten up by the family members of the bride.
According to reports, the would-be bride eloped with another man in the morning today when only a few hours were left for her wedding.
When the groom’s family was informed about it they reached the bride’s home to make confirmation. However, the groom’s elder brother and other family members were reportedly beaten up by the girl’s family.
Meanwhile, the groom’s family has filed an FIR at Garmur police station.
