GUWAHATI: “No one from Bodo community possesses illegal arms today. Only, Hira Sarania (Naba Sarania) has illegal arms. His men are directly involved in this killing,” said Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary after a BPF worker was shot dead in Udalguri on Friday.
Mohilary who visited slain BPF worker Khairul Haque’s residence blamed Kokrajhar MP Naba Kumar Sarania’s supporters for the murder.
“NDFB has laid down all the weapons it had. Now, only Hira Sarania has illegal arms,” Hagrama Mohilary alleged.
“I am not police to seize the arms. I request the administration to act against it,” the BTC chief replied when he was asked about the action taken against possession of illegal arms in Bodo Territorial Region (BTR).
Meanwhile, slamming Hagrama Mohilary for his remarks, Lok Sabha MP Naba Kumar Sarania said, “It is unfortunate that Hagrama Mohilary has added political colour to this incident. Not only NDFB, but some other forces also have illegal arms. I request them to immediately surrender and cooperate with the government. Otherwise, they will be thrown to jail one day.”
