GUWAHATI: “This agreement has brought a ray of hope to the Non-Bodo people in Bodoland Territorial Region. Non-Bodo villages will have an option to come out from BTC and Bodo villages will have an option to come in BTC,” said Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Addressing a press meet in Guwahati today, Dr. Sarma told reporters that state government would constitute a commission to examine the inclusion of new villages and exclusion of existing villages under Bodoland Territorial Council.

“We will form the commission with completely neutral people where ABSU, BTC and other Non-Bodo organisations will be included to raise their concerns,” minister Sarma said.

“This Bodo Accord will end doubt and mistrust among Bodo and Non-Bodo people for the sake of permanent peace and security in the region,” Dr. Sarma stated.
